Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a larger bowl, combine flour and salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture to the flour.
  • Mix in melted butter and egg until combined.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish.
  • Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
