Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick bread brioche or challah
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Butter for frying
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Fold in fresh berries gently into the cream cheese mixture.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture on two slices of bread.
  • Top with the remaining slices to make sandwiches.
  • In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  • Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  • Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove from skillet and let cool slightly.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup and additional berries on top.
