Ingredients

  • 500 g bread flour
  • 350 g water
  • 100 g active sourdough starter
  • 10 g salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour and water. Let it rest for 30 minutes (autolyse).
  • Add the sourdough starter and salt to the dough.
  • Mix until well combined and a shaggy dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4 hours, folding every hour.
  • Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • Cover the loaf and let it proof for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) 30 minutes before baking.
  • Bake the loaf for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
