Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Brown the short ribs on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove ribs and place them in the slow cooker.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in beef broth and red wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet.
  • Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and thyme.
  • Pour the mixture over the ribs in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Once done, serve with the sauce and enjoy your meal!
