Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Remove the skillet from heat and spread pesto generously over each chicken breast.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve with lemon wedges.
