Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
