Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly.
Poke several holes in each potato with a fork.
Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack.
Bake for 45-60 minutes until tender.
Remove potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Cut a slit down the center of each potato.
Fluff the insides with a fork and add butter if desired.
Top with cheese, bacon, sour cream, and green onions.
