Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 cup carrots julienned
  • 1 cup cucumbers julienned
  • 1 cup bell peppers sliced
  • 1 cup spinach blanched
  • 3 green onions chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the marinade by mixing soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic in a bowl.
  • Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
  • While the beef marinates, cook the jasmine rice according to package instructions.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil.
  • Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes until browned.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, quickly stir-fry the carrots and bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
  • Assemble the bowl by placing a serving of rice at the bottom.
  • Layer the cooked beef on top of the rice.
  • Add the sautéed vegetables and blanched spinach for color and nutrition.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
