Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 tablespoons milk for glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  • Once baked, let the cake cool for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a plate and drizzling with the glaze.
