Ingredients

  • 4 large baking potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Cheddar cheese grated
  • Chives chopped
  • Sour cream optional
  • Bacon bits optional
  • Broccoli optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly under running water.
  • Poke holes in the potatoes with a fork to allow steam to escape.
  • Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  • Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack.
  • Bake for 45-60 minutes, until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
  • Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Slice open the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork.
  • Add butter, cheese, and your choice of toppings.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
