Ingredients

  • 1 can 15 oz chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Begin by draining and rinsing the chickpeas under cold water.
  • In a food processor, combine the chickpeas and tahini.
  • Add the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and ground cumin.
  • Season with salt to taste.
  • Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  • If the hummus is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika and parsley for garnish.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use.
