Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Drain excess fat from the beef and add marinara sauce to the skillet.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  • Spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Layer 4 noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture.
  • Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles, remaining meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Top with grated Parmesan cheese and cover with foil.
  • Bake for 25 minutes covered, then remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until bubbly.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
