Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture.
Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center and pour in the milk.
Stir until just combined; do not overmix!
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently 5-6 times.
Roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
