Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
Lightly oil the grill or pan to prevent sticking.
Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
Flip the patties and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium doneness.
If using cheese, add a slice on top during the last minute of cooking.
Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before assembling.
