Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 4 slices of bacon chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional: chopped almonds for garnish

Instructions

  • Wash the green beans thoroughly and trim the ends.
  • In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  • Remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Introduce the green beans into the skillet and stir to coat them in the bacon drippings.
  • Season the beans with salt and pepper, then cover and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the crispy bacon back into the skillet.
  • Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over the mixture, stirring well to combine.
  • Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  • Serve warm, garnished with optional chopped almonds if desired.
