  • 4 oz. dark chocolate melted

  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
  • Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
