Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  • Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Set up a breading station: one bowl with beaten egg, another with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
  • Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the chicken cutlets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer chicken to a baking dish and top each piece with marinara sauce.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
