Stir in cooked pasta and broccoli florets if using.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
Remove from oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
