Rinse and drain the soaked pinto beans.
In a large pot, add the beans and water; bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer until beans are tender, about 1 hour.
In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy.
Add the chorizo and cook until browned.
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet; sauté until translucent.
Stir in the diced tomatoes and jalapeño; cook for 5 minutes.
Once beans are tender, add the skillet mixture to the pot.
Season with cumin, salt, and pepper; stir well.
Simmer for an additional 10 minutes to combine flavors.
