Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons loose black tea or 2 tea bags
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar to taste
  • 1/2 cup milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice mix cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves
  • Optional: whipped cream and extra spice for topping

Instructions

  • Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan.
  • Add the loose tea or tea bags once the water is boiling.
  • Stir in the chai spice mix and sugar.
  • Reduce heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • In a separate saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat.
  • Whisk the milk until frothy or use a milk frother.
  • Remove the tea from heat and strain it into a cup.
  • Pour the frothed milk over the brewed tea.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chai spices if desired.
