Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium head of cabbage chopped
  • 1 can 15 oz diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup rice uncooked
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot, brown the ground meat over medium heat until fully cooked.
  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for about 5 minutes until it starts to wilt.
  • Pour in the diced tomatoes with their juice and stir well.
  • Add the broth and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in the uncooked rice and paprika.
  • Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
