Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or ciabatta loaf
  • 4 ripe tomatoes diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice the baguette or ciabatta into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  • Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.
  • Brush both sides of the bread with olive oil.
  • Toast the bread in the oven for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and chopped basil.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the tomato mixture and season with salt and pepper.
  • Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  • Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each slice of toasted bread.
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze on top before serving.
