Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the browned chicken in the skillet.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to cook for 10-15 minutes.
  • If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
  • Continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
