Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pastry dough
  • 4 medium apples peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg for egg wash, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pastry dough and fit it into a 9-inch tart pan.
  • Peel, core, and slice the apples thinly.
  • In a bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  • Arrange the apple mixture evenly over the pastry.
  • Dot the apples with butter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden.
